KR Liu is a nationally awarded advocate, recognized for the impact she’s made in inclusive design, brand marketing, policy, and inclusion. For her work as Google’s Head of Brand Accessibility, KR was awarded Fast Company’s 2022 QUEER 50, received a Presidential appointment to the US Access Board, and named one of ADWEEK Creative 100 in 2021.
KR’s latest work is an all-new playbook on accessible marketing, which she developed in partnership with LaVant Consulting and Disability:IN. It has been endorsed by the American Association of Ad Agencies, Ad Council, Cannes Lions, and many other leading organizations.
As a female, queer, and disabled person, KR grew up rarely seeing these critical parts of her identity represented in media and advertising. As a result, she spent more than a decade hiding who she was in her personal life and at work. It was only when KR recognized that each part of her identity was essential, that no one part could exist without the other, did she feel truly seen by those around her. That feeling was transformative for her life and career, and it is this sense of belonging and empowerment that she strives to bring to others in her work today.
KR has spoken at the White House, the United Nations, Capitol Hill, CES, SXSW to push for a more accessible and inclusive world for all through brand marketing and inclusive design in technology. She has been featured in NPR, CBS This Morning, Fast Company, Business Insider, Tech Crunch and many more for her work in accessibility inclusion and equality in tech.
